MBOLD was honored to co-host a powerhouse delegation of Dutch alternative protein companies, economic development leaders, researchers and trade representatives last month in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada and AURI. The delegation offered a valuable window into the Netherlands’ efforts to innovate in the alternative protein sector and expand their presence in North American markets. We were excited that our Dutch colleagues made Minneapolis the sole focus of their U.S. trip.  

This dialogue is part of MBOLD’s ongoing exploration of opportunities to drive greater sustainability for proteins, an integral and environmentally consequential part of the human diet. Leaders from PURIS, SunOpta, Schwan’s, the UMN Plant Protein Innovation Center and Good Food Institute also shared perspectives on key trends among U.S. consumers, business-scaling challenges and market opportunities in the alternative protein arena.
