Bridge2Food North America Summit + Food. Ag. Ideas Week

We were honored to co-host the Bridge2Food North America Summit for a second year, convening more than 300 global food industry leaders to discuss cutting edge research, opportunities, and challenges for plant and alternative proteins.

Highlights included a terrific workshop at SunOpta, great panels and fireside chats including General Mills, Schwan’s, Cargill and many other national and international industry leaders, and the debut of a new Pitch Slam event.

Sponsored by the Consulate General of Canada in Minneapolis, Switzerland-based Buhler Group and MBOLD, the Protein Innovation Pitch Slam featured eight emerging protein companies from four countries and a bi-national panel of judges. The winners were:

• Judges’ choice: Finland and California-based Onego Bio, which produces egg protein through precision fermentation and
• Audience choice: U.K.-based Kyomei, which has developed a new technology for extracting protein from plant leaves.

We send our gratitude to the Bridge2Food team and all the MBOLD members and partners for their role in bringing protein industry leaders from around the world to Minnesota to drive innovation together.
